I have recently been exploring with under glaze decals I got on Etsy from Sanboa Studio. They are super fun and can be used in lots of ways!
Here is what I have been doing with them-
They are easy to use but it does take some practice and patients (which i don't usually have!) I am having better luck on green ware then bisque ware but you can apply them to either.
I got an order for a set of 4 of the lobster mugs, so that is what i have been working on this week.
Here they are so far!
We had some back and forth about what the bottom color should be, red or blue, and went with red. I think it looks great!
they are drying now and will be fired next week, a clear glaze applied, and then fired again before they are off to their new home!~
WHAT I LOVE - They can be fired to any temperature so they are completely food safe!
WHAT I DON'T LOVE - Sometimes they smear if you use too much water!
Lauren Liess of www.laurenliess.com/pure-style-home Asked me to make these lamps for her client. It was such a fun experience and I really love what she has done with them! She was nice enough to share some pics of the install with me! So here they are!
Here are the two sets of finished Lamps I made for a local designer. I love them!!! the Glaze varied a little on the bottom set, I wasn't so sure about them, but once I wired them with the hardware and fabric cord they really came together!
The designer choose the bottom set because they are more sturdy. I learned a lot while making these and got a lot better! One thing that I learned was to leave the bottom a bit thick so they are sturdier and more stable!
Whenever I make custom work i make sure to make more than I need just in case the customer wants options. In this case I'm glad I did!
